Description:
Provide diagnostic imaging services to patients using various imaging modalities.
Ensure accurate image acquisition, patient safety, and optimal patient care.
Prioritize patient education by explaining procedures and equipment.
Demonstrate advanced knowledge in radiographic procedures.
Perform exams based on Imaging Department Protocols or protocols developed with the Radiologist.
Practice radiation safety, adhering to ALARA standards.
Ability to operate equipment consistent with manufacturer’s recommendations.
Troubleshoot equipment problems and independently call a service engineer if maintenance is needed.
Verify exam orders and identify the patient through two means of identification.
Provide exam education to patients.
Review and document the patient’s medical history and obtain required informed consent.
Ensure all necessary paperwork and prior studies are complete before submitting procedures for interpretation.
Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic health record system.
Charge for procedures and supplies.
May be required to perform other functions within the clinic.
Demonstrate flexibility by assisting in other modalities.
Adjust schedules and take on additional shifts as needed.
Obtain additional training or certification as required.
Assist with clerical duties and patient transportation when needed.
Train or cross-train imaging staff members as directed.
Demonstrate self-motivation and use independent judgment.
Order, stock, and maintain supply inventory.
