Physician - Pediatrics

Description:
Provide on-site acute and episodic medical care to K–12 students across multiple urban and rural school campuses, addressing illnesses, injuries, and urgent health concerns during school hours.
Conduct health assessments and physical examinations for students requiring clearance for sports participation, special education eligibility, or return-to-school protocols.
Collaborate with school nurses, counselors, and special education staff to develop and implement Individualized Health Plans (IHPs) and 504 accommodation plans for students with chronic conditions.
Prescribe and manage medications for students with ongoing conditions such as asthma, ADHD, diabetes, and severe allergies within the scope of school-based care.
Maintain accurate, HIPAA-compliant medical documentation using school or district Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring timely charting for all encounters.
Identify and refer students with complex or unmet health needs to community specialists, mental health providers, or primary care physicians, with particular attention to underserved rural populations with limited healthcare access.
Participate in multi-disciplinary student support team meetings to provide medical guidance on students whose health conditions impact attendance, behavior, or academic performance.
Ensure compliance with state and district health mandates, including immunization requirements, communicable disease protocols, and mandatory reporting obligations.
Coordinate with district administration to support public health initiatives such as vision and hearing screenings, wellness fairs, and seasonal illness prevention campaigns.
Adapt clinical and communication approaches to serve culturally and socioeconomically diverse student populations across urban and rural communities, maintaining sensitivity to social determinants of health.
