Description:
The Medical Laboratory Technician performs a variety of diagnostic tests on patient samples to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases.
This role requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and quality standards in all laboratory processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Collect, prepare, and analyze biological specimens (blood, urine, tissue, etc.) using manual and automated techniques.
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
Conduct tests in various departments such as hematology, microbiology, clinical chemistry, immunology, and transfusion medicine.
Ensure quality control and accuracy of test results by following established procedures.
Record and report results to physicians and maintain detailed records of laboratory tests.
Adhere to infection control, health, and safety policies and protocols.
Participate in proficiency testing and continuing education activities.
Troubleshoot technical problems and consult with senior technologists or pathologists as needed.
Assist in training and orientation of new staff and students
