Description:
Seeking Certified Athletic Trainers to support high school and collegiate sports coverage.
This is a temporary to permanent opportunity, with potential to convert to permanent staff if desired.
The Certified Athletic Trainer assists in the operations of the Sports Medicine Program.
Duties include providing athletic training services to local community colleges and area high schools.
The Trainer works with team physicians, coaches, parents, and athletes as well as other allied health professionals.
Responsibilities include preventing, evaluating, treating, and rehabilitating all sports-related injuries.
Promoting sports medicine services within the community is also part of the role.
The Trainer strives to uphold the goals and mission of sports medicine in all daily responsibilities.
Work environment will vary depending on the athletic season.
Time will be spent on playing fields for practice and event coverage, as well as with indoor sports.
The Trainer may also spend time in a wellness or therapy setting outside of high school athletics.
A flexible schedule is required, including evenings and weekends to provide coverage.
The Trainer must exhibit characteristics and ethics consistent with licensure and certification requirements.
Frequent lifting, bending, and reaching are required.
A substantial amount of walking and standing is needed throughout the role.
Moderate stress may be associated with a busy schedule during peak athletic seasons.
Good communication skills are essential for success in this position.
