Description:
We are seeking an experienced and caring Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Obstetrics/Labour and Delivery unit.
The RN will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients throughout the stages of pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum.
This role demands clinical expertise, compassion, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, emotionally intense environment.
Provide holistic nursing care to women during antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum phases.
Monitor maternal and fetal well-being using assessments, vital signs, and electronic fetal monitoring (EFM).
Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and obstetric emergencies.
Administer medications including epidurals, oxytocin, magnesium sulfate, and pain management therapies.
Support and educate patients and families on labor, delivery processes, postpartum recovery, and newborn care.
Collaborate closely with obstetricians, midwives, pediatricians, anesthesiologists, and support staff.
Document all aspects of care accurately and in a timely manner using electronic medical records (EMRs).
Promote a safe birthing environment and adhere to infection prevention and hospital protocols.
Respond quickly and appropriately to emergencies, including fetal distress, hemorrhage, or eclampsia.
Requirements:
Active Registered Nurse License
BLS and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required; ACLS and FHS/EFM training preferred.
At least 2 years of recent experience in Obstetrics, Labour&Delivery.
Proficiency in fetal monitoring and emergency obstetric protocols.
Excellent communication, emotional support, and critical thinking skills.
Ability to manage multiple patients and prioritize effectively in high-acuity situations.
