Must-Have: At least 19 years of age, High School Diploma or equivalent, ability to assist students with physical needs or disabilities

Description: Work within the school and community setting under the direction of the classroom teacher to maximize students' learning. Focus on academic, behavioral, functional, and social/emotional development. Foster student participation in all school-related activities. Monitor and assist students in their daily routines across various settings. Provide individual or small group instruction under teacher supervision. Offer academic support tailored to the student’s academic level. Accompany students and provide support in inclusion settings. Communicate effectively with students based on their individual needs. Demonstrate a positive attitude toward students. Assist students with hygiene needs as directed by the teacher. Support individual therapy programs as directed by related services staff. Provide active supervision during various school activities. Follow through on behavioral programs including intervention plans and crisis plans. Assist students with transportation needs safely. Take care of and maintain equipment, materials, and school property. Assist students in using adaptive equipment. Develop classroom materials and maintain an orderly learning environment. Commit to student safety and knowledge of emergency procedures. Work professionally with all staff members. Participate in specialized training as requested. Engage in team planning or IEP meetings as needed. Travel to other sites during the day as required. Take the initiative when no specific task is assigned. Follow the routines and procedures set by the classroom teacher.

Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 4-6 hours per day. Ability to sit for up to 2-4 hours during instruction or meetings. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed. Ability to reach, grasp, and handle materials and equipment. Ability to bend or kneel to assist students and retrieve materials. Ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively. Ability to write, type, and use teaching tools and technology. Ability to support students with physical needs or disabilities. Ability to maintain focus and emotional regulation in a dynamic environment.
