General Information:

Patient Ratios: 1:1, 1:2 (occasionally 1:3 with patients ready to leave ICU)
Unit staffing description: No CNAs, one telemetry technician.
Type of equipment: Aleris pumps, GE monitors, Edwards EV 1000 and CCO, Primaflex CRRT, Cardiohelp ECMO.
Documentation system: Meditech.
Scheduling requirements:
Three 12-hour shifts a week, every other weekend.
Floating policy: Travelers float to the emergency department and step down units as needed.
On Call Expectations: Only when census drops, otherwise no call.
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend.
Patient Experience Requirements:
This is a 29-bed general ICU within a level 2 trauma center.
The facility handles approximately 200 heart cases per year.
CRRT, Impella, IABP, and ECMO are used.
A burn center was opened in April 2019.
The average years of experience for ICU staff is 12.
