Ratios: 1:4-5 Patient Population: Adults; 24-bed IMC unit

Summary of Required Skills: Clinicians must have experience in neuro stepdown and cardiac telemetry. Required skills include IV starts, port access, PICC, central and peripheral line care, and blood product administration. Respiratory care includes trach management, oxygen delivery, chest tubes, ABG interpretation, and non-invasive support. GI care includes feeding tube management. Medication skills include PCA, procedural sedation administration, heparin protocols, and managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration). Cardiovascular care includes post-MI, cardiac caths and angiograms, dysrhythmia management and interpretation, telemetry monitoring. Additional competencies include wound care/wound vac, isolation precautions, renal failure, pre and post hemodialysis, and rapid response team use.

Floating: Staff may be required to float to other units or campuses as needed. Floating is limited to areas where staff are qualified and have documented competencies. Charting: 1 year of EPIC experience required.

Client Details: This facility is a Joint Commission-accredited acute care hospital. It offers inpatient and outpatient services including cardiac care, orthopedics, maternity, cancer treatment, and robotic-assisted surgery. The hospital features a nursery, expanded ICU, and emergency services. Recognized for high performance in heart failure and kidney failure.

Traveler Compliance: Travelers cannot extend for a fourth consecutive contract. Travelers will need to begin the process of converting to employee status after working their third consecutive 13-week contract. If travelers do not wish to convert, they will be required to take a minimum six-month separation before reapplying. Travelers must be a specified distance from the facility to be eligible.

Module Completion: Travelers are eligible for reimbursement for hours spent completing modules. Time will be verified upon start of contract. Travelers must complete pre-assignment testing and modules within 48 hours of receiving login information. Staff will float to units they are qualified for and performing tasks for which competencies have been documented.
