Description:
Facilitates the performance of invasive, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures.
Handles instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during surgical procedures.
Ensures quality patient care during operative procedures.
Constantly monitors maintenance of the sterile field.
Verifies surgery to be performed with consent forms.
Brings the patient to the assigned operating room.
Passes instruments to the surgeon during procedures.
Anticipates the surgeon's needs for additional supplies.
Performs appropriate counts with the circulator prior to the operation and before the incision is closed.
Prepares sterile dressings and secures them after incision closure.
Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures.
Obtains appropriate sterile and unsterile items needed for procedures.
Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedures.
Helps drape the sterile field.
Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization.
Assists other team members with cleaning the room for turnover.
Assists in prepping the room for the next patient.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Complies with safety and wellbeing requirements.
