Description:
This position is located in a Level II Trauma Center with a Level III NICU and a Level III Maternity unit.
The facility has 167 beds and is a Covid vaccine required environment.
The NICU has 18 beds and cares for micro preemies, patients with no major surgeries, infections, respiratory distress, and NAS.
Patient ratios are 1:1-3 during days and nights.
Experience at a Level III NICU is required.
Skills required include O2 therapy, nitric oxide, CPAP, chest tube management, and care of micro preemies.
Experience with intubated and vented neonates and delivery experience is required.
Transport experience is preferred.
Support on the unit includes a nursing assistant with a ratio of 1:18 and phlebotomy for lab draws.
The charge nurse takes an assignment and is involved in the operational flow of the unit.
Telemonitoring is conducted at the bedside and nurses' station without a tele tech.
Neonatologists and nurse practitioners are available in-house 24/7.
Charting systems and equipment utilized include EPIC, Alaris, and Pyxis.
Weekend rotation is every other week, with no call obligations.
Time off can be approved for up to 7 days.
Scrub color is flexible and can be any color.
