Description:
We are seeking a full-time Hematology/Oncology physician for locum coverage.
The desired start date is as soon as possible.
Availability is required from Monday through Friday.
Providers will be supported by a team of MDs, APPs, RNs, MAs, navigators, and infusion RNs.
Bone marrow biopsies will be a required part of the role.
Weekly hospital call is coordinated at a 1:4 ratio, from Friday 7:30 AM to the following Friday 7:30 AM.
Rounding is required for 1-2 hours each day, Monday through Sunday.
Weekday afternoon rounding occurs from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Responsibilities include managing acute leukemic patients and inpatient chemotherapy patients.
Providers will need to take occasional phone calls but will rarely be called in.
Clinic weekday call is shared for taking any add-on consults and supervising chemotherapy patients when other providers are unavailable.
Each provider supervises their own patients in the chemotherapy clinic.
Documentation is required following autologous stem cell transplant and CAR-T cell therapy treatments.
Please note that the provider must utilize a "real-time" mobile time clock for clocking in and out.
Patient encounters per shift are approximately 15.
The facility operates at trauma level 2 for adults and level 3 for pediatrics.
