Must-Have:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Five years of acute care nursing experience with varied experience
Two hours of verifiable trauma-related education annually
Six hours of stroke training annually, with NIHSS counting for three hours
Description:
The House Supervisor provides leadership and coordination of healthcare services.
The supervisor ensures safety and quality of care.
In the absence of regular leadership, the supervisor has hospital administrative responsibility.
This includes serving as incident commander during disasters and mass casualty incidents.
Additional responsibilities include managing patient flow throughout the hospital.
This encompasses assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care delivery.
The goal is to ensure that patients and families receive optimum care.
The House Supervisor coordinates patient care throughout the hospital and outpatient areas.
They serve as a liaison for staff, patients, families, and providers.
They balance the needs and interests of various groups, including law enforcement and governing bodies.
The supervisor expedites admissions, discharges, and transfers of patients.
They appropriately guide physician understanding of admission Utilization Review InterQual criteria.
They facilitate the communication of the need for emergency surgery with procedural areas.
The supervisor rounds on all nursing units to monitor activities.
They assure adequate staffing with knowledge of patient needs and unit standards.
The supervisor assists in aligning unit staffing with productivity goals and objectives.
They temporarily provide services of other departments as needed in their absence.
They respond in real-time to concerns escalated by department staff or patients and families.
The supervisor acts as a liaison between physicians and patient care teams.
They activate the medical staff chain of command when necessary.
They have the authority for staff disciplinary actions as needed.

Schedule Requirements:
