Description: Direct care of patients by assisting with personal hygiene, dressing, feeding, and mobility. Monitor vital signs and document care provided. Communicate changes in patient condition to the nursing staff. Work under the supervision of nurses. Perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure. Recognize the rights and responsibilities of patient confidentiality. Convey empathy and compassion to both patients and coworkers. Report any changes in patient condition to the primary nurse or shift charge nurse. Relate to others in a manner that creates a sense of teamwork and cooperation. Communicate effectively and therapeutically with patients and their families. Provide care based on a CNA level scope of practice in accordance with state nursing regulations. Support the mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures of the healthcare facility. Participate in required education for applicable programs as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements: Sufficient auditory ability to detect and respond to various sounds, including patient alarms and verbal communication. Clear and effective communication is essential, as is the ability to interact with patients and healthcare team members. Visual acuity is necessary for observing patient conditions, reading documentation and monitors, and distinguishing colors for clinical purposes. Tactile perception is important for assessing physical characteristics during patient care. Motor coordination is required for reaching, grasping, handling, and performing fine motor tasks necessary for medical equipment use. Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling may be required when assisting patients or accessing equipment. Walking and standing are typically continuous throughout the shift. The role requires the ability to lift to 50 pounds independently and involves frequent pushing, pulling, carrying, or repositioning of objects or patients weighing up to 25 pounds. Occasional lifting or transferring of individuals weighing over 100 pounds is required, using appropriate techniques or team assistance to ensure safety. May require sitting for prolonged periods.

Working Conditions: Work is primarily performed in an indoor healthcare environment. Frequent exposure to infectious and contagious diseases, hazardous materials, and medical equipment is expected. Appropriate safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) must be utilized. The healthcare environment can be fast-paced and unpredictable. Requires the ability to respond quickly to changing circumstances, including high-pressure or emergency situations. Multiple simultaneous demands and varying levels of noise due to medical equipment and patient needs are present.
