Description:
The nurse will work in a medical-surgical unit.
Patient ratios will be 1 nurse to 6 patients.
The nurse may be required to float to units of equal or lesser acuity.
Telemetry will be monitored in a centralized unit.
There will be a free floating charge nurse available.
A house discharge nurse will float across all departments.
Interdisciplinary support services available include Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation, and Unit Secretary.
The patient population will include adults and geriatrics.
The average daily census is 37 patients.
There will be a total of 45 beds available in the unit.
The nurse should have the skills to interpret dysrhythmias and manage dysrhythmias.
Isolation precautions and PPE must be followed.
Experience with nasal cannula and peripheral line care/management is required.
