Must-Have:

Must possess excellent communication skills. Candidate must be able to function independently and under pressure. Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively. Competent in all aspects of MRI, patient positioning, pulse sequence parameters, and magnet safety.

Description: Must be flexible with work hours to meet department needs. Must be dependable, accountable, and cooperative. Assists in providing safe, age-appropriate care to patients by performing all exams according to established procedures. Has the knowledge and ability to obtain quality diagnostic studies properly and safely. Responsible for performing a wide variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. Able to independently perform job functions. Sets up equipment to provide imaging services and positions patients for procedures. Obtains complete clinical history, gathers examination data, and assesses contraindicating conditions. Follows established procedures for the administration of contrast media to ensure patient safety. Ensures all studies have proper patient identification. Reviews images for clinically acceptable results and releases patients. Responds to emergency situations effectively. Assists other technologists in all modalities when needed. Observes patient conditions and evaluates situations requiring physician intervention. Verifies correct patient identity prior to performing procedures according to policy. Ensures patient privacy and comfort, maintaining dignity throughout procedures. Demonstrates competence in determining and applying appropriate procedures, equipment, supplies, and techniques based on patient age. Organizes schedule and priorities to accomplish required activities within designated time frames. Follows physicians' instructions when assisting with procedures and exams. Understands and documents pre-procedure verification and Time Out processes when required. Demonstrates and understands pre-and post-procedural care. Preps patients for procedures and demonstrates sterile techniques. Prepares trays and participates in biopsies if applicable. Demonstrates proficiency in necessary technical systems if applicable. Prepares and may administer contrast as needed. Verifies orders with contrast, checks patient lab results, and ensures contrast dosing is weight-based. Uses appropriate safety devices to protect patients' hearing during exams. Understands anatomical positioning, correct labeling of body parts, and uses immobilizers when necessary. Possesses knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy. Utilizes critical thinking skills and seeks clarification on ambiguous orders. Adjusts techniques to ensure patients receive the best study possible while maintaining image quality. Reports equipment malfunctions to supervisors for timely correction. Cleans, disinfects, and maintains equipment following infection control policies. Operates the patient monitoring system as required. Patiently explains the purpose and nature of exams to minimize anxiety for patients. Ensures that patients' questions and concerns are satisfactorily addressed. Participates in the orientation and training of departmental staff as needed. Completes all required documentation concisely and accurately. Reads emails daily to stay informed about assignments. Completes mandatory education promptly without prompting. Produces acceptable images and follows established exam protocols. Ensures equipment is operational and checks for calibration before use. Maintains the MRI suite in a safe environment. Restocks linens and supplies, managing the department in a clean condition. Transports and positions patients, assisting them on and off procedure tables. Performs patient charging activities on the service day. Applies supportive and immobilization devices and helps colleagues as needed. Performs clerical and support duties to ensure continuity and quality of services. Keeps supervisors informed of all responsibilities, ensuring prompt notification of any problems. Maintains an individual productivity rate comparable to co-workers. Operates all workstations associated with the MRI scanner. Maintains compliance with all relevant standards and regulations. Performs additional duties as assigned.

Takes call when necessary. Complies with all policies, standards of work, and codes of conduct.
