Must-Have:

Ability to provide consistent adult outpatient general-neurology coverage
Willingness to rotate among multiple outpatient locations
Experience with EMR, preferably Cerner or a comparable system

Description: Seeking consistent weekday outpatient coverage across three different facilities. The position involves outpatient general neurology coverage only, with no inpatient coverage, night call, weekend call, or holiday coverage anticipated. Full-time availability is preferred. The provider must commit to a consistent minimum of three days per week to be considered. The schedule may rotate among different locations, with the provider assigned to one location per day. The specific schedule and site rotation will be coordinated in advance based on patient access needs and provider availability. The role includes evaluating and managing new and established adult and geriatric general-neurology patients. Common neurological conditions managed will include headache and migraine, seizure disorders, neuropathy, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, cognitive disorders, and post-stroke follow-up. The provider will review diagnostic imaging, laboratory results, and outside medical records. They will order appropriate diagnostic testing and manage medications. Coordination of care with primary care providers, APPs, specialists, and other members of the neuroscience team will be required. It is essential to complete documentation, patient messages, test result reviews, and follow-up responsibilities promptly. The provider should be comfortable providing independent outpatient coverage across multiple practice locations. Credentialing may take around 90 to 120 days after receipt of a fully completed application. The anticipated patient population will be approximately 60% adult and 40% geriatric. The average daily patient volume is approximately 14-18 patients, depending on the mix of new and established patients. Additional time should be allowed for complex new-patient evaluations. The coverage is necessary to maintain timely patient access and continuity of care while recruitment for a permanent neurologist is ongoing. The practice setting is exclusively outpatient neurology, with no trauma or emergency coverage included. The opportunity supports an established and growing neuroscience program serving communities throughout the region. Collaboration with an interdisciplinary team and an established referral network is expected.
