Description:
Seeking an experienced anesthesiologist for a critical access hospital team.
Coverage needed as a locum who resigned.
Ideally looking for full-time candidates but will consider part-time.
Schedule is 0700-1530.
Call schedule includes week night call from 7 AM to 4 PM every third night and weekend call for 24 hours once a month.
The call ratio is every third night, which is flexible.
The paperless documentation system is EPIC.
Average number of surgical cases per day ranges between 14-16, including endoscopy.
No supervision of CRNAs required; physicians handle their own cases.
There is no trauma designation.
Team consists of four anesthesiologists.
The locum tenens physician will be responsible for preparing the anesthesia cart.
Pre-op population is managed through Epic.
Patient age demographic ranges from 3 to 100 years and older.
The OR staff is described as congenial, professional, and helpful.
Three anesthesia sites are operated daily, including operating rooms and endoscopy rooms.
Procedures required include general surgical cases for adults, minor nerve blocks, plexus anesthesia, epidural anesthesia, spinal anesthesia, regional anesthesia, obstetrical cases, and acute pain management procedures.
Epidurals will be initiated by anesthesiologists, who can leave the hospital afterward but must be available for callback with a 30-minute response time.
The program for obstetrical care remains active, averaging 4-6 deliveries monthly.
Travel is required, including standard rental cars.
