Radiology - Sonographer/Ultrasound Tech

Certifications: ARDMS or RDCS certification; BLS certification

Must-Have:

ARDMS or RDCS certification attached to submission
BLS certification through the American Heart Association

Description: The Ultrasound Technician is a graduate of an accredited AMA school and registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT). The Ultrasound Technician maintains a State License as a general radiographer and/or is a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS). The Ultrasound Technician is responsible for providing timely diagnostic services to both inpatient and outpatient individuals under the direction of a Radiologist and departmental protocols. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, abdominal, pelvic (gynecological & obstetrical), and transvaginal sonograms. The Ultrasound Technician is additionally proficient at scanning small parts, including the thyroid, breast, and scrotum. The role also includes performing ultrasound-guided biopsies, drainage, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and aspirations. The Ultrasound Technician must be willing to take call as required.
