Shift: 40-hour day, 4/10-hour days with on-call rotation

Hours per Shift: 6:30 am - 5:00 pm

Experience: O.R. nursing experience and CNOR strongly preferred

License: Current RN license

Certifications: ACLS upon hire or must hold an active BLS card and obtain ACLS within 60 days of hire

Ability to function in an environment with competing priorities is a must. Excellent communication skills, ability to multitask, and a can-do attitude are essential.

Description: Conducts interactions with everyone in a friendly, courteous and respectful manner. Goes out of his/her way to offer assistance to others. If unable to offer assistance, finds someone who can. Advocates to ensure privacy and confidentiality while helping others to maintain awareness. Maintains a clean and safe environment. Responds appropriately and immediately in emergency situations. Ensures compliance with regulations to maintain accreditation and licensure. Complies with attendance and tardiness policies. Reports incidents in a timely and effective manner. All employees with direct patient contact are responsible for monitoring and enforcing compliance with hand hygiene. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing interventions and patient goals. Provides patient care based on established standards. Respects each patient as an individual, fostering dignity and positive self-regard. Provides patient and family teaching based on identified learning needs. Collaboratively plans and prepares patients and families for discharge, incorporating necessary support systems. Appropriately delegates and supervises nursing interventions performed by others. Prioritizes patient care and seeks assistance as needed. Provides thorough, timely, and accurate documentation of all pertinent data and interventions. Delivers timely and thorough reports on assigned patients to ensure continuity of care. Promotes learning for colleagues and self through professional development. Identifies risks to patient safety and opportunities to reduce health care errors. Identifies ethical issues in care and develops plans to address them. Safely administers medications and intravenous therapy per protocols. Assesses patient pain levels upon admission and as necessary. Reassesses effectiveness of pain control and notifies physicians as needed. Collaborates with the surgical team to assure patients' well-being during procedures. Maintains sterile fields and directs the care and sterilization of supplies and instruments. Identifies patients correctly by checking identification bands and consent forms. Applies principles of aseptic practice and oversees the preparation of supplies for surgical cases. Applies principles of body mechanics during the positioning and transfer of patients. Assures that all techniques during surgical procedures reflect standards of perioperative practice. Maintains accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments and notifies the surgical team of the results. Identifies, labels, and handles all specimens according to established policy.
