License: Active RN License from North Dakota or a Compact state

Certifications: BLS (AHA); NIHSS

Must-Have:

Minimum of 1 year recent Medical Surgical experience in a busy large hospital with over 200 beds
Float Pool experience preferred
First-time travelers will be considered if their primary experience is in Resource Pool/Float Pool
EPIC experience is required
Willingness to float within the Medical Surgical cluster

Description: All clinicians must badge in and out of the facility. Scrubs are required to be navy blue. This position does not accept travelers living within a 60-mile radius of the facility. Local travel rates apply for those living 60 to 80 miles from the facility. Position requires head-to-toe assessments and medication administration by various routes. Responsibilities include care plan formulation/documentation and wound/line/drain care. Equipment utilized in this role includes Epic EMR, Accudose RX, Alaris IV pumps, and Philips vital machines. The nurse-to-patient ratio ranges from 1:4-5 from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. and 1:5-6 from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. Floating may occur to over units and departments, including Medical Surgical overflow spaces and status patients within critical care units. Orientation includes one full shift on a Medical Surgical unit and campus tours during the first week of hire.
