Job duties will include administering tube feedings, blood sugar checks, insulin, vaccinations, and medications via PO, SQ, and IM routes.
Skin assessments are also part of the role.
Admissions will be handled by the Director, with no discharges as residents stay for life.
Charting will be by exception, and the LPNs will provide care across all levels, including independent, skilled nursing, and memory care.
LPNs must be flexible and willing to assist with hands-on care along with nursing assistants.
Common titratable or set rate drips are very rare, usually involving IV antibiotics.
Charge nurses or house supervisors will be RNs in the building, with a plan to have supervision on each shift or via overlap.
There are nursing assistants on the unit to support care.
Required equipment includes oxygen and CPAP; no tracheostomies or chronic ventilators are present.
Shifts are all 8 hours in length and rotate, with flexibility expected for PTO or other needs.
Weekend requirements involve working every other weekend, with holiday requirements based on necessity.
All LPNs will have training across units and may be expected to float throughout the facility.
Scrub color is not restricted, as any solid color of scrubs is acceptable.
Tattoos and piercings must adhere to the facility's guidelines, and smoking is prohibited on the premises.
Earbuds and phones are not permitted in patient care areas, and breaks are provided accordingly.
