Description:
The position is for a Surgical Services RN specializing in the Operating Room.
The role involves working with a team of healthcare professionals to provide patient care during surgical procedures.
The RN will assist with surgical preparations and patient management.
There are five operating rooms and a cystoscopy room.
An average of 6 to 7 cases is handled per day, including general and orthopedic surgeries, podiatry, OB/GYN, urology, and dental procedures.
A charge nurse is available Monday through Friday, with an administrative supervisor on duty 24/7.
The charge nurse does not take an assignment.
There are also operating room technicians available for support.
Self-scheduling options are utilized for shifts.
The RN will be required to take call one weeknight per week and one weekend per month.
Call begins after the last cases of the day.
Response time for call is expected to be within 20 minutes.
Floating to the PACU or GI units is ideal but not required.
Scrubs are provided for the position.
Orientation will involve a preceptor and department educator for training.
Candidates must be prepared to meet the specified standards and requirements of the role.
