Description: Seeking Certified Athletic Trainers to support high school and collegiate sports coverage. May convert to permanent staff following the assignment if desired, but there is no obligation. First-time travelers, local candidates, and new graduates are welcome to apply. The Certified Athletic Trainer assists in the operations of the Sports Medicine program. Duties include providing athletic training services to the local community college and area high schools. The Certified Athletic Trainer works with team physicians, coaches, parents, athletes, and other allied health professionals. Responsibilities include preventing, evaluating, treating, and rehabilitating all sports-related injuries. Promoting Sports Medicine services throughout the community is also a key responsibility. The Certified Athletic Trainer strives to achieve the goals and mission of the Sports Medicine team. Work environment will vary depending on the athletic season. Time will be spent on the playing fields for practice and event coverage, such as football and baseball. Indoor sports, such as basketball and cheerleading, are also part of the responsibilities. Outside of covering athletics, time may be spent inside a wellness or therapy setting. The schedule requires flexibility, as evening and weekend availability is necessary. The Certified Athletic Trainer must display characteristics and ethics consistent with licensure and certification requirements. Frequent lifting, bending, and reaching are required. A substantial amount of walking and standing is expected. Moderate stress may be associated with a busy schedule during peak athletic seasons.
