Description: The occupational therapist delivers quality therapy services to patients. Responsibilities include performing evaluations and developing individual treatment plans and goals. The therapist aims to maximize functional outcomes for patients. It is essential to maintain standards of professional and ethical practice. The therapist is responsible for actively participating in discharge planning. Additionally, the therapist implements the treatment program and reassesses treatment results. Services are delivered within the framework of an interdisciplinary team approach. This approach includes significant others and the patient. Therapists deliver services in compliance with mission, ethical standards, and policies. No technician support is available. Call-outs are strongly discouraged and could lead to termination. Therapists may be asked to precept when needed by the unit. Productivity expectations are 24 units in an 8-hour day. The care setting includes a critical access hospital treating skilled nursing patients. Patients typically have an average length of stay of 14 days. Therapists will also float to outpatient care within the same facility. The role emphasizes quality service delivery and interdisciplinary collaboration.
