Description:
This position requires a physician specializing in obstetrics and gynecology.
The physician will provide 24-hour call coverage for a duration of one week.
Responsibilities include rounding on patients, being on-call for emergent C-sections and vaginal deliveries, and being available for any emergent gynecological procedures.
The facility experiences an average of 27 deliveries monthly, with an average of 11 C-sections.
High-risk deliveries will only be emergent.
There is no NICU on-site, and high-risk patients will be transferred to the nearest facilities for NICU care.
The physician will work in a hospital setting with hospitalist support staff, on-call anesthesiology support, and on-call radiology support available 24/7.
The physician must be within a designated driving distance from the facility as per hospital bylaws.
The role includes managing low-risk pregnancies and performing necessary procedures related to routine deliveries.
Preferred skills include performance and interpretation of OB ultrasounds and decision-making for C-sections.
The physician should also be skilled in surgical gynecology, both open and laparoscopic.
Additional skills required include repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations and minor gynecological procedures.
Candidates with no recent or open malpractice cases and no disciplinary actions are preferred.
